Yesterday, the FUNimation Roll-Out Riot gave us more anime news on both the action and cute girl fronts with a pair of wildly different shows: Jyushin Enbu Hero Tales and Master of Martial Hearts (AKA Zettai Shougeki Plantonic Heart). The two shows work on completely different levels, with one being a wuxia-inspired action tale with character designs and manga from Arakawa Hiromu (Fullmetal Alchemist) and the other being an Ikki Tousen-style fan service brawler.
The problem, though, is that Arakawa Hiromu didn’t have much input into Hero Tales and it never rose above mediocrity, and Zettai Shougeki isn’t even as entertaining as Ikki Tousen. C’mon, FUNimation, I was so hopeful after FLCL – will today bring us a truly amazing announcement, or will the Roll-Out Riot end in overall disappointment with a few bright spots?
