Update: The Super Robot Wars official anime page is up, and gives the new anime a fall season start date! What’s this I see on the Internet? A new Super Robot Wars OG series that takes place after the overly-political Divine Wars series? And it’s subtitled The Inspector, just like the first villains of OG2? And [...]

So, we now have a few more names to attach to the increasingly attractive-looking Kami Nomizo Shiru Sekai (“The World God Only Knows”) project. Rising star Itou Kanae (Amu from Shugo Chara!) will voice the clumsy devil Elsea, while Shimono Hiro (Akihisa from BakaTest) will be voicing the Capturing God, Katsuragi Keima. The tiny snippet [...]

The theme song for the Japanese 25th anniversary of Disney on Ice is Korean pop star BoA’s funk-heavy dance tune “Woo Weekend.” The above video really reminds me of the pop videos that you see during the commercial breaks on the Disney channel, which is kind of a career throwback for BoA after her more [...]

Because if you haven’t, you really should. There are currently six episodes of the hit baseball anime streaming over at Hulu and VizAnime.com, and I highly recommend all of them. Cross Game was one of the best anime of 2009, and it’s a damn shame that more people haven’t watched it. Heck, I think more [...]

Oh hey, I’m allowed to announce this now. May’n and Nakajima Megumi, who both broke out in the sci-fi musical hit Macross Frontier, are coming to Anime Expo and will be holding a concert at the famed Nokia theater in downtown LA. You can see them both above. May’n is an amazing performer, while Nakajima [...]

It’s not exactly a surprise with Bandai owning everything else Haruhi, but Bandai has officially announced the licensing of the popular comedy shorts The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan and Nyoro~n Churuya-san. The anime shorts, which were based on 4-panel gag comics that have nearly eclipsed the original novels in popularity, started out on YouTube and [...]

Above is the main reason I’m excited for a new season of Code Geass. I’ve always had an obsession with Spanish guitar, and between composer Nakagawa Koutarou and singer/songwriter Sakai Mikio, they’ve delivered the goods on guitar since 2001′s s-CRY-ed. Sure, the second season of Code Geass was an exercise in shark-jumping until there were [...]

Last weekend, I stopped by the local Kinokuniya book store and noticed the new GTO manga by Fujisawa Tooru: GTO Shonan 14 Days. I remember hearing about its existence last year, but this was the first time I’d seen it in collected form. I snatched it up immediately, because I was a huge fan of the [...]

I’ve spent a lot of today trying to figure out the right angle to Aniplex of America’s decision to take the wonderfully over-the-top Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann movies to market themselves. On one hand, it’s good that fans will be able to get their hands on the movie after a whole lot of silence on [...]

Yes, all of it. Today, FUNimation announced that the potential spring season savior Sarai-ya Goyou (AKA House of the Five Leaves) and lesser-known Tatami Galaxy will both be simulcast under its banner. The deal as announced covers future series that live in the noitaminA block as well, so this is a pretty big win for FUNimation. [...]
