Sweet mercy, I go and take a break to staff AX and the anime companies unleash half of their big announcements! I’m glad I’ll actually have time during Otakon to post the news as it happens, because falling behind on AX feels like a mountain already. Yes, all of it. Today, FUNimation announced that the potential spring season savior Sarai-ya Goyou (AKA House of the Five Leaves) and lesser-known Tatami Galaxy will both be simulcast under its banner. The deal as announced covers future series that live in the noitaminA block as well, so this is a pretty big win for FUNimation. [...]

With the end of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood looming at the end of this season, Capcom has stepped up to make sure that the void is filled come summer. While there are more than a handful of shakycam videos of TAF trailers out there, I feel like it’s not worth pointing to them unless you can actually hear what’s going on without hundreds of Japanese convention-goers jabbering over the blurry video. The Sarai-ya Goyou trailer comes as a breath of fresh air, late as [...]

Today, two trailers were released to show off its upcoming slate: one for April’s House of Five Leaves (Saraiya Goyou), and one for Shiki. Unlike the first Shiki trailer, this [...]

While I sat around and waited for my copy of Baldr Sky Dive2 to come in the mail over the long weekend, the anime world was far from idle, with plenty of announcements and other news. – The upcoming Key (Clannad, Kanon) anime Angel Beats! announced the performers for its opening and ending themes. – [...]

Ono Natsume, the author of Ristorante Paradiso, now has two manga that have anime adaptations on his resume. The latest is House of Five Leaves (Saraiya Goyou), a period piece about a gang of kidnappers, headed by the silver-tongued and inscrutable Yaichi, who hire a timid ronin named Akitsu Masanosuke as their bodyguard. According to [...]
